Project Summary

Saulsbury installed protective instrument systems (PIS) including Triconex & Bently Nevada for a fully integrated refinery and chemical plant. Saulsbury also set up the refinery’s interface with turnaround activities to enable PIS and installed DCS using Foundation Fieldbus technology.

Goals and Achievements

  • Over 1,600 I/O installed
  • Over 119,000 man-hours expended
  • Over 14,000 man-hours in hot loop cutovers
  • No major plant upsets or shutdowns
  • No safety incidents
  • Most hot loop cutovers performed under breathing air
  • Cutovers interfaced with Motor Control Centers, Process Controls and Protective Instrument System

Crude Unit Expansion in Lovington, NM

Saulsbury completed an EPC Crude Unit Expansion at a refinery in Lovington, NM. This project resulted in increased crude oil processing capacity from 30,000 BPD to 45,000 BPD.
